At the Last Supper, Jesus was gathered together,
with His disciples to celebrate the feast of the Passover.
The breaking of the bread was symbolic of the incarnation of
God in earthly flesh and Christ's broken body which was
about to be given for us that our sins might be forgiven.
The cup was symbolic of Christ's blood which was about to be
shed and the violent death He was about to suffer as the
divine provision for the washing away of our sins.
